Pokémon Delta Reign Is Almost Here: Release Date, Prerelease & What to Know

Clear your Friday, trainers. The next Pokémon TCG expansion, Mega Evolution—Delta Reign, hits shelves on November 6, 2026, and prerelease events are running at local game stores right now. If you've been hearing a lot of excited yelling from the back of your LGS lately, this is why.

What's coming, and when

Here's the short version so you can plan your wallet accordingly:

  • Prerelease events: October 24 through November 1 at participating local game stores. That means this weekend is your last shot at the prerelease experience.
  • Full release: Friday, November 6, 2026.
  • The cards: more than 135 of them, with Mega Rayquaza ex leading the charge. The set also brings Legendary Stadiums, which come as two halves that line up into one panorama. You need both halves to play one, which is either brilliant design or a sneaky plan to make us open more packs. Possibly both.
  • The products: booster display boxes (36 packs), an Elite Trainer Box (9 packs plus a full-art Kyogre promo), a Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box (11 packs and an extra promo), Booster Bundles (6 packs), and Build & Battle Boxes with a ready-to-play 40-card deck and four packs.

Build & Battle Boxes show up at prerelease events first, with wider retail availability a couple of weeks after launch.

What it means for you

Heading to a prerelease? You'll open your packs, add them to the Build & Battle deck, and play a quick 40-card format. Bring sleeves (trust me, you'll want them the second something shiny shows up), a pen, and a snack. Tournament stamina is real.

Building for Standard? Delta Reign is a big set for a new era of Mega Evolution, so expect deck lists to shift as people figure out where Mega Rayquaza ex and those split Stadiums fit. Hold off on locking in a final 60 until the full card list settles and your local meta shows its hand.

Chasing the master set? Plan for a lot of binder pages and a lot of patience. And please, for the love of all things holo, sleeve your hits the moment they leave the pack. Penny sleeve, toploader, done. Future you will be grateful.

New cards need a home

Here's the part nobody talks about at prerelease: after the trading, the trash talk and the triumphant fist pumps, you've got a pile of freshly sleeved cards and... a rubber band? The box the ETB came in? A sandwich bag? (No judgment. Okay, a little judgment.)

Your deck deserves better, and that's where I come in. I print and hand-finish every Layer3D deck box in my Blue Springs, Missouri shop. Each one has a satisfying magnetic lid that snaps shut and stays shut in your backpack, plus a raised art panel made with HueForge filament painting, which basically means layers of colored plastic stacked to build up real depth and shading. They look awesome on a play mat and even better on your shelf.

They're built roomy, too. The standard tray holds about 135 single-sleeved or 115 double-sleeved cards, so a 60-card Pokémon deck, your extras and a sideboard of "just in case" cards all fit with room to spare. Pick your insert, too: standard, triple-sleeved, a holder for a Gamegenic sliding case, or a top-loader insert for keeping your best pulls protected. Every insert has a toploader slot and a divider for your star card. Want something bold? The Gold Dragon deck box is all raised dragon and flames. Prefer a little spooky? The Skull & Lantern deck box brings big haunted-lantern energy.

Go get those pulls

Whether you're cracking packs at a prerelease this weekend or lining up on November 6, I hope your pulls are shiny and your Stadiums come in matching halves. When you need somewhere worthy to keep the deck, browse the deck boxes here. Every order ships free with US standard shipping.

Happy pulling,
Carrie
