Modern Japandi Planter — Ribbed Terracotta Insert with Onyx Black Sparkle Base

This planter solves the one thing every plant parent dreads: the saucer overflow. The ribbed terracotta insert holds your plant and does the actual draining — holes in the base let excess water pass straight through instead of pooling around the roots. That water lands in the onyx black sparkle base below, which is sculpted with a sweeping diagonal cutaway so it can look like it's just holding the pot, while secretly catching every drop. No saucer, no soggy roots, no ring on your console table.

The design leans hard into Japandi minimalism — clean geometry, a warm two-tone palette, and just enough texture to keep it interesting. The sparkle finish on the onyx base catches the light without shouting about it, and the vertical ribbing on the terracotta insert adds grip and visual rhythm against the smooth curve of the shell.

Sizing: Available full scale (120mm opening) or at 80% scale (96mm opening) — same silhouette, sized down for smaller plants or tighter shelf space.

Finish: Choose your onyx base in our signature textured sparkle finish, or a smooth matte profile if you prefer a cleaner look. Both finishes are available at both sizes.

Every planter is FDM 3D printed in PLA, hand-finished, and built to hold up to regular watering with the insert doing the draining work for you. Best suited for low-to-moderate water plants (pothos, snake plant, ZZ, succulents) — just don't let the collected water in the base sit for weeks at a time.
