Nihon Vase — Japan Map Fracture Vase | Kintsu Series No. 1

Kintsugi taught the world that a break can be the most beautiful part of an object. The Kintsu Series takes that idea and runs somewhere new — instead of mending the crack with gold, we let it become a window.

The Nihon Vase is the first design in the collection. Its fracture traces the silhouette of Nihon — Japan's main island — cutting across the front of the vase in a warm, contrasting tone. Flip it around and a second, smaller fracture chips off toward the back, tracing Okinawa's islands drifting away from the mainland. It's not damage. It's the whole point.

Every Kintsu piece is FDM 3D printed in two colors: a soft, matte "stone" exterior in Bone White, with the fracture printed in a warm woodgrain-look accent (Amber Oak) — vertical print lines left intentionally visible for texture, not sanded smooth. No two-tone trickery, no paint — just the printer doing exactly what it does best.

Standing 179mm tall and 164mm wide (that's about 7" x 6.5"), it's substantial enough to anchor a console table or shelf, with an opening sized for a real bouquet — dried grasses, a single stem, or a full seasonal arrangement.

A quick note on materials: the Nihon Vase is 3D-printed in PLA, not ceramic — the matte texture just channels that vibe. For dried or faux florals, no liner needed. Planning to keep fresh-cut stems in water for more than a few days? We recommend tucking in a glass or plastic liner to keep things watertight long-term.
