MADE FOR COMMANDER NIGHT
3D printed deck boxes with a place for your commander.
Bring a full Commander deck, the tokens that travel with it, and the art that makes the whole build feel like yours. Every Layer3D box is printed, finished, and packed by hand in Blue Springs, Missouri.

NOT A GENERIC PLASTIC BOX
Storage that pulls its weight at the table.
A Commander deck box needs to do more than contain cards. It has to protect a 100-card deck between home and game night, open without a fight at a crowded table, and leave room for the small pieces that always seem to come along. Tokens, a top-loaded commander, a few spare sleeves, or the cards that make the deck feel complete all deserve a place.
Layer3D makes deck boxes around that actual routine. The interior is built for a full deck with practical capacity, while the outside carries layered filament artwork that belongs with the deck inside. The result is a box that is useful when you are packing up and satisfying when you set it beside a playmat.
Room for the deck you actually play
Capacity matters most after sleeves, tokens, and a commander holder enter the picture. Layer3D boxes are designed for up to 115 double-sleeved cards or 135 single-sleeved cards, so a standard Commander deck has sensible breathing room instead of a lid you have to force shut.
A commander slot that earns its place
The front slot keeps a top-loaded commander visible and separate from the main stack. It makes it easier to identify the deck in a bag, protects the card you handle most often, and gives the whole box a clear point of view before the first shuffle.
Magnetic closure, simple access
A magnetic lid closes cleanly for ordinary travel, then comes off without extra latches or loose pieces at the table. It is one less fiddly step when someone is waiting for you to join the pod.
Dividers when you need them
Two removable dividers help organize tokens, a small side stack, or a deck that travels with extras. Remove them when one open compartment better suits the deck. The box adapts to the way you pack, rather than asking every deck to behave the same way.

ART BUILT INTO THE PRINT
Made in layers, not covered with a sticker.
The artwork on a Layer3D deck box is created in colored filament layers as part of the print. That gives the design real texture and depth, rather than leaving it to a decal or wrap that can peel away from the box. It is a better fit for a piece of game-night gear that gets handled, packed, and brought back out week after week.
That approach also makes the box easier to recognize among a stack of decks. Pick a dark, witchy illustration for the graveyard deck. Choose a mana-themed design for the list that always comes back to one color. Bring a dragon box for the deck that needs a little more presence. The art has a job beyond looking good: it helps the deck feel like itself.
Each box is printed and finished one at a time by Carrie. Small layer texture and finish variation are part of the handmade character, not a reason to hide the process. The goal is a solid, practical deck box with an exterior that still feels personal when you take it out of your bag.
BUILT FOR THE ROUTINE
From shelf to table and back again.
The right deck box takes a little friction out of game night. It should hold the deck without crushing sleeves, close without a complicated sequence, and make setup feel familiar whether you bring one favorite deck or a small rotation. Commander players already have enough decisions to make when they sit down. Storage should not become another one.
Start with your usual loadout. If the deck stays double sleeved, carry it that way when judging capacity. If your commander lives in a top loader, plan for a slot that keeps it from wandering around inside the main compartment. If the deck brings a stack of tokens or a few cards you often swap, use dividers to give those pieces their own place. The best setup is not the most complicated one. It is the one that makes packing and unpacking feel automatic.
It also helps to think about the way the box will travel. A deck that mostly lives on a shelf has different needs from one that shares a backpack with a playmat, dice, and several other decks. A secure lid and rigid shape matter more once the box is moving between tables, cars, and crowded bags. Before ordering, load up the gear you normally bring and picture where the deck box will sit. That quick reality check is more useful than choosing by capacity alone.
Then choose the details that make the deck easier to reach for. A distinctive front and commander slot can save you from opening every box in a stack. Removable dividers can keep token cards upright without forcing them into the main deck compartment. Those are small conveniences, but they add up over a season of game nights. A good deck box should protect the cards quietly and make the rest of the ritual feel smoother.
Layer3D deck boxes are especially suited to players who want their storage to be part of the deck’s identity without sacrificing practical details. Current designs include fantasy, mana, gothic, and character-inspired themes, all made to carry a full Commander deck first. The personality comes after the basics are covered, which is exactly how it should be.
MAKE IT YOURS
Have a color, size, or print-ready idea?
Some of the best deck boxes start with a clear picture in a player’s head. You may want a different color combination for an existing design, a size adjustment for a particular use, or a rights-cleared file printed in PLA. Layer3D can review those ideas through the custom-order process before any work begins.
A custom request works best when it has a practical goal behind it. Tell Carrie what deck or setup the box needs to support, what must fit, and what you want the finished piece to feel like. That makes it easier to decide whether an existing design can be adapted or whether the request needs a more involved quote.

How many cards fit in a Layer3D deck box?
Layer3D deck boxes are designed to hold up to 115 double-sleeved cards or 135 single-sleeved cards. Sleeve thickness and any extras you carry can affect the exact fit.
Do Layer3D deck boxes have magnetic lids?
Yes. Each current Commander deck box uses a magnetic lid that closes cleanly for ordinary game-night travel and removes easily at the table.
Can I keep my commander in a top loader?
Yes. Current Commander deck boxes include a front slot sized for a top-loaded commander, so the card is easy to identify and keep separate from the main deck.
Can I request a color or size change?
Many existing designs can be adjusted for color or size. Use the custom-order page to share what you have in mind and Carrie can confirm what is possible before quoting the work.
